Concert by the Eben Brothers in the picturesque setting of the Podhlavicky mlýn boutique hotel

The Czech folk-jazz music stalwart, who has been delighting the ears and minds of listeners with his work for 47 years, has arrived at a magical, but so far unconventional place for concerts - the Podhlavicky mlýn. The sons of the composer Petr Eben, brothers Marek, Kryštof and David, accompanied by musicians Jiří Zelenka, Pavel Skála and Jaromír Honzák, have prepared a cross-section of their musical work and a traditional, albeit unique combination of clever lyrics, kind humor and lovely music for Saturday evening.

The Eben Brothers – a band of three Eben brothers (Marek, Kryštof, David) and other leading Czech musicians (Pavel Skála, Jaromír Honzák and Jiří Zelenka).

At the time of the release of the first album "Malé písně do tmy" (1984), the band was a trio of brothers - Marek, Kryštof and David, and their approach was completely unique on the Czech music scene. The sons of the prominent composer Petr Eben (1929 - 2007) received a classical music education, but at the same time they absorbed the influences of modern folk, jazz and rock music. Their ability to draw from all these sources and the art of using various unusual musical instruments created an absolutely unconventional, inimitable "Ebenový sound" on the Czech scene. Moreover, in combination with Marek's exceptional lyrics, the Eben Brothers were and still are unique on the Czech music scene.

On September 1, 2023, the band released their 6th album titled "Co my víme". The album contains 13 new songs (the LP has one less). The author of all (music and lyrics) is Marek Eben. The exception is the instrumental composition Clafoutis, written by the youngest of the brothers David. The album was recorded at Birdland studios (Považská Bystrica) by the band's regular sound engineer Tomáš Jakl and under the supervision of the band's producer and guitarist Pavel Skála. In addition to Marek, Kryštof and David Eben, the band consists of Pavel Skála (guitars), Jiří Zelenka (drums and percussion) and Jaromír Honzák (double bass and bass guitar). Several guests will also appear on the album - Pavel Fischer on violin or the children's choir Radost Praha with choirmaster Jan Pirner. The album was mixed by the legendary British sound engineer Phill Brown. He is a very well-known figure in the music industry - among the icons of the music industry for whom he worked, we can name Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd or Dido and many others. Mastering was entrusted to the equally famous British engineer Denis Blackham. The graphics were taken by the band's long-time collaborator, Karel Haloun with Luďek Kubík. The photos for the album were taken by Dušan Tománek.
